Module One Basics Of Android

By the end of the session, you will have a basic understanding of history and evolution of Android, Android development tools i.e. - Eclipse, DDMS etc. and you will have a clear vision about what Android manifest file does and the importance of the activity lifecycle. You will also develop Hello World application and deploy it using emulator or any physical device. We will also talk about the Android community, online resources, blogs and important twitterati who share material on android development. Students will know about our hiring partners and industry players who are actively hiring android developers.

Module Two Android Layouts and Widgets

We will be discussing about basic layouts and widgets used in an applications. Furthermore, you can create list or grid views in your programs and populate them with data.

Module Three Communication and Media

In this module, we will be creating multiple activities and then you can pass information between multiple activities. Also, we will be able to play audio and video files in the application.

Module Four Storage Techniques

We will be storing data in SQLite DB of the device and retrieving them in another activity. Along with some more data storing techniques like Shared Preferences etc.

Module FiveWeb Services and Customization of Widgets

In this session, we will be using how to parse JSON data coming from the server and see how to configure asynchronous task that it does not hinder on the main thread of the application while pinging server. Further, we will see how we can customize widgets like button, text box, edit text, list views etc.

Module SixAdvanced Android Concepts

We will be doing Facebook authentication in this session, and will use most of the topics which we have covered earlier like, SQLite, passing intent from one activity to another and various stuff. We, will also cover that you to create a signature to sign your apk for Google Play release.
