About Flockathon

Flock, the #1 Team Messenger invites you to experience the power of the FlockOS - the World’s First Chat Operating System - through our series of ‘Flockathons'. App developers can build incredibly powerful apps, bots, and integrations on top of the FlockOS. So, an app you create on Flock could help you schedule meetings while chatting with your team, help you with easily setting up To-dos, or even book an Uber , while wrapping up your last meeting. Flock is a part of the Directi Group which also comprises Radix, Ringo, Zeta and Codechef. The format of the Flockathons will be as follows:
  • Flockathon teams can have a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 4 members.
  • At the Flockathon, teams will compete against each other to build a Flock app which uses the full potential of the FlockOS
  • Teams will be given the FlockOS API documentation, as well as relevant SDKs to work with. They will also be given a complete walkthrough, as well as time to clarify any doubts
  • Teams will be given 24 hours to complete the task and make their presentations *Every team will be provided with food, beverages, and beanbags to sustain them through the Flockathon May the Code be with you! :)

The entire idea need not be fully implemented however, the submission should be functional so that it can be reviewed by the judges.

The Flockathon winners would have to spruce up their app and then submit it to the Flock App Store, so that the apps are at a level comparable to other live apps. Most winning apps would already be at a level where it can be submitted with minimal effort. The prize amounts would be transferred to the winners after the final apps are submitted within a week to the App store. The winners would own their respective apps. All support would be extended so as to help get the final app in place.
The solutions should be relevant to a team messaging context, and ideally solve a business problem which is best tackled by using a collaboration platform
The developer/developers of the web/mobile application will have all rights and own the IP of the product. However, all code needs to be in public domain (open source) so that it can be evaluated by the judges.
